Our 5th annual event supporting ABA Autism Services at Damar

Our Mission

sMaac loves to give back to the community, but there is one place that holds a special place in our hearts, Damar Services; more specifically, ABA Autism Services at Damar. Many people do not realize how difficult the holiday season can be for the special needs community and their families. Many of these children cannot go to the mall to sit on Santa’s lap due to overstimulation or families struggling to purchase items for their children with special needs. That is why sMaac Digital created a fun way to experience Christmas and make a difference in these children’s lives. We ask the facilities what wish list items can be impactful and connect fun with therapy.

This year will be the 5th annual Connecting the Pieces of Christmas event on December 18, 2024.

Highlights

Connecting the Pieces of Christmas starts with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus arriving at Damar’s Fall Creek location with a “sleigh” full of tools that help the children with everyday learning. The children are all invited to sit on Santa’s lap, one by one, in a controlled environment, and Santa gives each child a gift to unwrap. The moment is captured by a picture that is printed out and sent home with the child.

Wishlist

Some of the items needed include a springless trampoline, bean bag chairs, Apple gift cards, busy boards, and autism sensory-friendly items. sMaac has put together an Amazon wish list available below. You can purchase items outright, contribute to sMaac to go towards larger items, or contribute to DAMAR directly (please designate the Holiday Fund in honor of Connecting the Pieces of Christmas). All items purchased through sMaac or the Amazon wish list will be wrapped by staff and family members and will be delivered by Santa with a little help from a primary sponsor to the Fall Creek center and distributed to the other two centers.
